Angling
We have two of the country’s best angling rivers in the region:
the Glomma riover, which runs through Elverum, and the Renaelva
river in Åmot local authority. Among the fish you can catch
are the following: trout, grayling, perch, pike, burbot and
powan. We also have several charming, smaller rivers and lakes
in the region with plenty of fish. Everyone over 16 years must
have a fish permit to fish, and permits may be purchased at
local sporting goods shops and camping sites.

Borregaard Skoger AS
Good angling lakes and rivers are within an hour’s drive from
the centre of Elverum, at Gravberget, Trysil, Rendalen and Løten.
Trout are jumping in most lakes, and a picturesque forest
pond can be hiding potential catches up to 2 kg. Rowboats
have been placed at some lakes. See our website for more detailed
