Norwegian Forestry Museum
- the museum for the entire family
The Norwegian Forestry Museum is the museum for the great outdoors,
covering hunting, trapping, fishing and other forest-related
pursuits and industries. With more than 110,000 people visiting
the museum every year, the museum is among the most popular
in all of Norway.
Things you can see and experience at the Norwegian Forestry
Museum:
Agn og Åte (fish bait and animal bait)
-
in Simen’s world
This performance is Simen’s way of taking spectators on a theatrical
journey over Klokkerfossen Falls on picturesque Prestøya
island. Displaying and describing a variety of hunting traps
are just a few of the interesting things he has in store for
spectators. Come along this summer!
Nordic Hunting and Fishing Days
This annual festival is held from Thursday 7 August to 10 August. Over the years the Nordic Hunting and Fishing Days has become Norway’s most important venue for outdoors people, hunters and anglers, with more than 33,000 visitors annually. The Nordic Hunting and Fishing Days are organised in collaboration with the Norwegian Hunting and Fishing Association and the Norwegian Forestry Association.
CHILDREN’S DAYS
The Norwegian Forestry Museum becomes a special children’s museum
three days a year. On 10 February, the museum invites all children
to participate in Children’s Winter Games, while 15 June is
time for children’s Outdoor Day and 2 November is Children’s
Day.
